 Re: Trackmania 2
An interview that goes into details, interesting: http://translate.google.com/translate?j ... ry_state0=Looks like they still seem to know what they're doing in the physics department at least.

 Re: Trackmania 2
looks very promising. i bet they'll do a good job regarding the physics. but a publicly released alpha stage where you've got to pay for. i wonder how they'll manage that. seems hard to handle, and i still doubt a bit whether it's clever.

 Re: Trackmania 2
It must be a mistranslation... there are only disadvantages to that as far as I can see.

 Re: Trackmania 2
Lets face it, the first thing any TM fan will do is look for physics bugs, we are used to them

yeh... i so hope that it won't lead to the 'omg-we-have-to-make-one-game-a-year' attitude...

 Re: Trackmania 2
that would completely wreck the so carefully combined community, as TM2 will do now.
I dont say its a bad thing, i just dont know the reason to exploit things 3x, make it bigger, make it more advanced, and then start a clean sheet.
money i guess, but the 'hard work' is gone

 Re: Trackmania 2
New releases doesn't mean we actually have to play them It's like Counterstrike and CS:Source. Everyone moved to CS:S for a month and then back to 1.6 because it sucked Now only the Americans are playing cs:s, and only for the money. Most of them are moving back to 1.6 again... That's what will happen I think, unless the game blows your hair back, like TMUF does.

 Re: Trackmania 2
I actually came on this thread to ask the question "What does TM2 mean for CMC?", but now seeing that Ubisoft bought Nadeo, I think I should rather ask, what does it mean for TM's community as a whole?
The charm of TM for me was the die-hard community who played the game for years and formed bonds, and that you knew you could depend on Nadeo not to do much in the form of new games so that the community would stay intact.
If Ubisoft wanna pump out new games even every 2 years, I dunno how this will go...
Anyways congrats to Nadeo, they do deserve it!

 Re: Trackmania 2
Ubisoft use DRM which requires online authentication for the game to run, even for offline play - no network connection, no play - lose connection with Ubisoft's servers whilst playing, and the game exits - the DRM was cracked within a day of its release - Ubisoft's authentication servers failed and so the games stopped working - if Ubisoft don't want to support the games any more, they'll stop working - if Ubisoft go out of business the games will stop working, permanently - warezed versions work fine... http://games.slashdot.org/story/10/03/0 ... rs-Go-DownWonder if they'll be using this for TM2...

 Re: Trackmania 2
That system is already hacked... I found this article: http://www.computerandvideogames.com/ar ... ?id=237630, but from what I have heard it works. Guess Ubisoft are just trying to pull down the truth that their system is hacked. EDIT: Oh, didnt click your link!

 Re: Trackmania 2
lol what a bunch of idiots... they knew it was hackable, but they said earlier that they thought about a matter of 3-5 years before that would happen... anyhow, according to this and this, TM2 will have both an offline and online mode (what of course doesn't say anything about the DRM, but at least it's something), and it's not in the list ubisoft gave out with games using the DRM system. also, DRM server went down yesterday for more than twelve hours. i'm not even sure if they have fixed it already. many games could not be played for at least half a day. i just can't believe that a company could be so black 'n white visioned without even noticing that themselves. instead of trying to profit from piracy, but no...

 Re: Trackmania 2
Ubisucks soft Wait... Ubisoft sucks I laughed at their recent problems. They're really such dicks. I won't buy any Ubisoft games anymore. Except TM2. I'll miss Splinter Cell etc... ^^
