well, there are many judges this time. He actually gave me the full comments for a change, 8 judges voted, it got quite high ratings from some, but others gave it lower ratings, mostly because they thought it would be difficult for slow drivers (I think garf was one of these ppl, based on his TMX comment). But actual slow drivers seemed to rate it highly, because I made it accessible for them also and with many boosters to get back up to speed. The difficulty is only for fast drivers. So that sucks.

Apparently pacha also gave his highest vote to my Island map but that didn't help.

Also, with so many judges, it's very easy to have a few who just don't like Zooz maps, or me, and can torpedo my chances, because low votes count much stronger than high votes as people tend to give high votes.

It's tricky. I see how serious they work, and I'm confident the selected tracks will be nice. But having that many judges could lead to the more 'safe tracks' being selected first, as they'll get a higher average rating. Your tracks are awesome, but definitely a bit more unusual, so they might not benefit from a system like this. I wonder, how many judges did ET use back in the days?

Hybrid approaches are possible - where many judges give their assessment (evaluation, feedback, and scoring), but there is a smaller core that makes the final decision.

First off: Yeah we found some really good ones which can still be tricky to master so far.

then about ET: Wasn't it like every single Admin of the Leagues got to judge?

yeah every ET admin could send in votes for a particular league, but most did not cover all envs, so you usually got like 3-6 admins per env voting (more towards the later leagues when there seemed to be more admins). Also there was a testing stage before voting where just 1 admin was involved usually.

perhaps I should try making a bland and mediocre track for one of the next envs...

I didn't play it but it's both a Zooz track and a track made by a CMC player so it has to be terrible.
