Post Hiragana and Katakana smileys
Bah, I remember wanting JJ's Katakana smiley face for my nick -
Unicode U+FF82, UTF-8 ef be 82. Although there are several similar ones, e.g.
U+FF6F, UTF-8 ef bd af
U+30B7, UTF-8 e3 82 b7
U+30C4
U+32DB
etc.

I also wanted the backwards C for сmכ (actually Hebrew kaf, U+05DB, UTF-8 d7 9b).

It would appear that since then I may have been unduly influenced by that old codger Zooz! :zooz:

Yeah, the they correspond to "shi" (シ) and "tsu" (ツ). The small one is a version of "tsu" used to show represent a double consonant. (i.e the difference between "mitsu" ミツ and "mittsu" ミツッ, even worse when you are doubling the t on tsu!)

It's annoying that those characters are so similar when you try to learn Japanese. Well, they at least pwned me a few times ;)

Rescued these posts from a hidden part of the forum. Not all of our spamfests are completely useless. :P

"mittsu" ミツッ ------> "mittsu" ミッツ

Correcting a post that's a year old. :DD

And an easy way to remember.....

Hehe, silly mistake. Still, I've pretty much forgotten all of the Japanese I learned now :'(
